diabetes1Diabetes is an endocrine disorder that is an imbalance in the way the body metabolizes carbohydrates, fat and proteins. Diabetes expresses itself in high blood sugar.

If the blood sugar is not controlled then what happens next? Diabetes can affect every organ in your body.

Kidney Failure - Over years the kidneys tend to fail if the blood glucose is not kept under control. It is usually a slow process and can go undetected for years. Early signs are too much protein found in the urine which can be found by a lab test in the doctor’s office.

Another complication could be high blood pressure; if you keep the blood pressure under control then you will also help your kidneys.

What to do? Take control of your diabetes. Do let any of this happen to you or your family member.
